Amazing experience with chef Oscar and his assistant . The day started off with a simple breakfast of bread and coffee or chocolate . Then off to the market to buy the ingredients for the special lunch. Oscar took his time explaining every detail and was very patient with us. After we went back to the kitchen and started cooking. Oscar and his assistant were absolutely wonderful . Every step was explained in detail to us which we truly appreciated. After all the food was cooked . We were sat a table in the patio , the table was very elegant and beautiful! The meal was absolutely delicious. Honestly could not have asked for a better afternoon. Worth every cent! Would certainly consider Casa Crespo a must do when in Oaxaca!

It's well organized, the chef is a nice man, we ate well and drank good mezcal. Though it shows that it's been rolling for a decade... the chef kind of lacks of charisma and seems somewhat tired of it. It felt streamlined. Questions were answered expediently. I wouldn't recommend it though at the same time the were no ill feelings. It was a neutral experience. Do it if you have nothing else to do.

Best cooking class I’ve tried. Oscar gives you tons of options to choose the menu and takes you to the market to purchase the ingredients. You cook a ton of different things, we made various, tamales with squash flowers, ceviche, tortilla starters, shrimp soup and mole on chicken, guided by Oscar and his kind assistant. Oscar is a great chef and a laid back guy that also runs a great artisan chocolate factory. Everything was super tasty! Would’ve paid the price of the class just to eat this at a restaurant. Warmly recommended.

There really is no set menu, it isn't marketing. Oscar is a phenomenally knowledgeable chef. We sat at the start and said what food we wanted to try and what we wanted to learn. The market tour was comprehensive, not just going through a shopping list. We then cooked everything, nothing was pre-made. The dining experience was lovely too - music, a beer, mezcal, and all the delicious food we had cooked.

My wife and I came here to try a cooking class we were able to do via last minute booking. We greatly enjoyed the experience, learning how to make mexican food vegetarian style. Chef Oscar and his assistant made everything so smooth and easy. Our end result food was absolutely amazing and fantastic. We rolled out from how full we were. Best food we have had a long time, especially more since we were involved in making it as well!
