Absolutely breathtaking cathedral. From the intricate sculpting on the outside, to the opulent interior, this cathedral rivals those in Europe. I believe this is still a functioning cathedral for worshipers, so you do so people going in and out and attending mass here. Absolutely stunning building that is worth visit! If you only visit one place in Mexico City, this is it! Note: Visited prior to COVID, so things may be different.

Open during Covid as of March 5th for mass and tourists. The cathedral is stunning inside and out. It's a perfect spot to observe the sinking of the city. Mexico City is slowly sinking and older structures like the cathedral are a perfect place to see this. Walk in through the main entrance and observe the floor sloping as you walk towards the lectern and crucifix.

Amazing building, the exterior is Gothic-esque and the interior is a lovely combination of styles with a tendency towards the Baroque. I unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to attend Mass here, but the space was quiet and prayerful.

Im not Catholic, and don't understand putting so much money in to a church and the deceased clergy, but....the craftsmanship that went in to it is amazing. Took a tour of the underground, my Spanish is OK, but the tour guide spoke faster than my brain could process. If in the area, worth the trip.

Just a beautiful cathedral to visit. Almost it's hundreds of years old but everything well kept.
