Interestingly a museum of Maya history is included in the basement of the a Spanish fort. The museum itself is regional and has artifacts from the surrounding Maya cities. Signage is in Spanish and English. The displays are well thought out and maintained. The museum itself is separated into about five rooms with different themes.

Excellent displays of some amazing funerary masks and jewellery. Well worth a visit. Modest entrance fee (MX55) free parking.
