The Yucatan Education Project is partnering with the Fundación Católica América Unida to build a vocational university, la Universidad Sacro Coure, in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Currently, youth on the island have no access to quality education and are relegated to part time work in the informal economy. Many households suffer from alcoholism and are considered dysfunctional. The Universidad Sacro Coure seeks to alleviate this. The University will offer three-year licensed programs in tourism management, hotel management, gastronomy, languages, and computer science. Upon graduating, students will be able to obtain high paying jobs on the island, supporting the local community and the island economy. The university is currently under construction. Join us and help build a future for the youth of Isla Mujeres.
