I can’t believe I just read such a bad review About YOGALOFT! I guess the reviewer just had a bad day and got carried away by those feelings. Yogaloft is the nicest studio in Playa Del Carmen. They are super friendly at the front desk, the showers are great! It has cubies with keys so you can secure your things while practicing, they offer mats, towels even yogi toes for rental, teachers are well trained and if you had never done Gannon’s Power vinyasa it can be a little challenging the first classes because is not grandmas yoga lol no seriously its a vigorous class and you just have to surrender and be open. The Ashtanga classes are taught as traditional so yes is challenging, but teachers are very well trained before they can even teach at Yogaloft. Also I love Ellen she is an amazing well experienced teacher, I have never tried yin because is not my thing but Im sure the teacher is well trained because again like I said she wouldn’t be teaching at Yogaloft. Then you have the cold pressed juices available for sale that are amazing so you can just drink afterwards, also the amazing teacher trainings that Gannon offers are highly recommended. You have to visit Yogaloft next time you visit playa and get your own experience.

This is a true Yoga School. Michael Gannon and the rest of the teachers as well as the staff make all students feel welcome. There are options for all levels of practice. Yogaloft is a true community and you feel welcome from the first time you walk in the door. The facilities are always immaculate. They have the most beautiful Yoga Shala I have every seen. If you are in Playa del Carmen Yogaloft is a MUST stop. I can 100% guarantee you will not regret it.
I love taking yoga classes, I was a yoga instructor for many years in San Francisco and NYC and have taken yoga classes all over the world. I DO NOT recommend this studio for these reasons: 1. UNPROFESSIONAL - I did not receive an introduction to the studio and they knew it was my first time visiting. Class was advertised as 6pm to 7:15pm. They asked me to come early to sign up and I arrived at 5:45pm. The instructor arrived at 6:24pm. That is TWENTY FOUR minutes late. The front desk personnel waited till 6:15 (this is 30 minutes that I’ve been in the studio now) to let us know the instructor is running late. Did class still end on time? Yes. Which means I got less yoga than I paid for but was required to pay the FULL drop in price. 2. YOGA? Maybe. I’m open to new styles, but the instructor was moving SO fast I started laughing out loud because literally not one participant was keeping up. Breath with movement? I don’t think a hamster could breathe that fast. It was entertaining, it was not yoga. 3. BUGS. I used this as a test of yogi patience. I left with about a dozen mosquito bites. I was SO EXCITED to buy a week pass and do classes here everyday during my visit. I had a terrible visit and I hope it is a one off given the great reviews this place normally gets. At the same time, I want to be honest about my experience because it’s important for us all to know and make our own decisions about a studio!
Best Yoga classes I have done in a while, active and authentic. Nice big studio space and experienced trainers. I would always come back here when in Playa and I'll continue my practice via zoom.
Amazing studio and fantastic instructors! I have been visiting Playa for many years and one of the reasons I keep coming back is because of Yogaloft. Michael's classes are super challenging and I always leave feeling balanced and stronger! Ellen is hilarious and always puts very thoughtful vinyasa flows together. The studio is beautiful and they offer healthy refreshing drinks for purchase after class. If you live in Playa or are just visiting, it is a must that you take class here.
