Casas Santa Cruz is one of our favorite places in the world! I almost don't want to publicize it anymore, but I really like the owner, and it wouldn't be fair for me to keep this gem to myself. Yelapa is a tiny town of footpaths, clinging to a hillside over the Banderas Bay and this house is no different. It is wide open to the warm breezes and fluttering butterflies. Right below it is a little beach where you can swim or snorkel, and all night long the ocean waves lull you to sleep in the most delightful way. The house is as close to being outside as possible, while still feeling safe, private, and protected from the elements. Birds chirp in the trees out the window; iguanas look at you from the rafters; you can watch manta rays leap while you wash the dishes; you can see humpback whales breach from the indoor hammock, swaying in a light breeze. It's the perfect antidote to everything 2020 threw at us, and I would recommend it whole-heartedly!
