This was our 4th extraordinary visit to Casa Pericos and it continues to be the best place to stay in YELAPA. Only a ten minute stroll to the village on a scenic ocean walk. This part of Yelapa does not allow ATVs which has gradually ruined the serenity of much of the village. Instead of motors we awoke to parrots jabbering and seeing manta rays while we sipped coffee from our balcony. Pure, peaceful, bliss! This was the perfect place to holiday for Christmas remotely and feel totally safe with Miguel, the Houseman and Delma making sure all was exceptionally clean and ready. The concierge Carolyn, shopped for us and arranged a chef for a special dinner. Even brought us some of that famous Yelapa, coconut pie. Rays will always be our favorite restaurant but honestly, there is not a bad restaurant in the Yelapa village and all have open or outdoor dining as well as takeout. Try the wonderful Eclipse for exceptional breakfasts and speciality coffees. Family run and friendly. We also saw whales right off our balconies! The ocean at this end of the bay is the cleanest and clearest and many days, like an aquarium! (Hint, swim out from Casa Pericos and swim down the coast to the left for far more fish. We swam down a 1/3 mile!) Very safe swimming. The waterfall in town is spectacular but if time allows, also take the hike to the other falls or a horse! Well worth the day adventure. New furniture, mattresses, appliances, art and upgrades were apparent since our last trip and this already majestic Casa Pericos, only gets better with time. Shane was checking in regularly and Miguel could answer any questions on best places and hours of operation. We are thinking of live / working from here possibly for up to a month. Best Internet in town so hopefully we can do it!!

Private...off the beaten track. Great snorkeling right outside your front door. Nice staff.

This place is for the adventurous, people who love nature and want to try something different. It is truly a gem and I will never forget it. I loved it! The problem was that I stayed there during bad weather and the waves were so strong I had nightmares, exciting but scary. One evening the little walkway to the hotel flooded with splashing waves and we couldn't get back to the hotel. It would have helped if someone had warned us to go back early or if we had help to get back. We went to a traditional hotel after that experience. But, would go back with nice weather for the adventure.
