We had been waiting a while to try Tamarindos, had received both really good and really bad reviews from friend & family so we were kind of intrigued by the place. We leaned more towards the later. The place is secluded but in a good way. It will take you a while to get here but you’ll be rewarded by a spectacular view of their farm and the opportunity to walk through their gardens (wine in hand). Nothing but good things to say about the atmosphere and location. Service was good, respectful and friendly. We felt at welcomed and in general had a very good experience with their staff. Food... the value is just not there. Besides from their organic vegetables which were rich and juicy, overall the food lacked in flavor. It’s not a cheap restaurant, and don’t get me wrong, we have nothing against expensive restaurants but the cost/benefit ratio is just not there. I really feel food what mire an afterthought and Tamarindos relies heavily on the rest of their strengths. Would still recommend to stop by if you are in the San Jose area, especially if you are looking for a nice, quiet and romantic setting. Just don’t go there thinking you’ll have your taste palates blown. Go sip some wine or mezcal or both, stroll down their farm and then head over somewhere else for dinner.

Amazing experience at Tamarindos! Very nice and professional service and delicious food for reasonable prices. I would want to come back here and taking a cooking class with them when revisiting the area. Shout out to the folks at the restaurant for great service and compliments to the chef.

Had a fantastic time doing the cooking class with my fiancé and 2 friends. While the class itself was really fun, it was our server Ernesto that made this a truly memorable experience for us. You can tell from the start that Ernesto absolutely loves what he does. And just as important he loves ensuring guests have a terrific time. He’s personable, attentive and just a delight to be around. Thank you Ernesto for taking such great care of us. Tamarindos is lucky to have you!

Wonderful property and farm! The setting is rustic but rewarding. We came here twice, once for drinks and then for dinner. Amazing at sunset... Now the unfortunate part, the food. The drinks are excellent, but the food is sadly lacking for the value. As you see, the prices are very high, but each dish falls short. If I were to summarize the experience, they miss the mark in robust, complex, or even subtle flavor. It's a bit surprising, because the tasting of some of the raw ingredients were fantastic.

Incredible food, service, and experience. All dishes were incredibly fresh featuring vegetables from their garden. Favorites were the Shrimp tacos in jicama, and tuna sashimi with avocado and fresh veggies. The pesto pasta was also very good. Also best lettuce I’ve ever had in the salad. This place is very underrated relative to flora farms and acre - it doesn’t seem to get the same publicity but just as good. would highly recommend

We did the cooking class & it was so much fun!! We got to take a tour of the space, and pick the herbs and veggies ourselves!! We cooked a few different dishes - all with the help of our amazing guide Ernesto & the head chef. Then we sat & ate the meals during sunset. The place is so beautiful, the food and cocktails were delicious, fresh, and overall experience with Ernesto was 5 star. We highly recommend for the cooking class, dinner, or even staying in their adorable villas.

Nice place, great to have a drink and take pictures. The service was good to and overall a good experience. The problem here is the food. Poor experience. The portion are small, prices are high and the quality is not there. They gives you vegetable from the farm but with no presentation. In the picture or the octopus, the arugula is free of everything, you get only the green vegetable, all alone.... They need imagination to make this place an incredible experience, the price is so high for something so lazy. Again, for drinks and pictures, the place is amazing.
