I visit places primarily for food and drinks. I thought Taboo would be the place since it’s so overly hyped. I had to visit and see for myself. We were a group of 4. Had reservations for 7:30pm and were not sat until 8:15pm. We all ordered different drinks and food. This place did not deliver. The drinks were weak, did not have a good taste. The food was bland, no flavor, not edible. I had to send my dish back. My party was hungry so they ate theirs. I asked if I can have my drink remade because the taste was not what was described in the menu, I was told they do not remake drinks. The service was very slow but I’ll blame that on how busy and packed they were. This place is more of a party scene (at night) I don’t know how it is during the day. Everyone was up dancing from their seats. If you’re looking for just dinner and drinks without feeling like you’re in a “club” go somewhere else. Definitely not the place for that. Music was so loud we couldn’t even speak to each other at the table. It appeared that everyone here was celebrating a birthday or special occasion (the night I went). If that is what you’re looking for then perfect spot. Overall, overly priced for that they offer. I pay for good quality food and drinks. This wasn’t it. They had nice decorations though.

Taboo is a sophisticated and unique dining experience. Exotic ambiance! Upscale restaurant!!! Food and house-made cocktails are extremely delicious. You can’t go wrong with everything you try. Excellent service. Outstanding atmosphere. Very beautiful beach club. Love the vibe. Highly recommend this place!
I’ve travelled the world. And got recommend by friends to visit Taboo Tulum. Fake people with fake vibe. They pressure you to buy more and tips more. I have no issues spending money, but provide me with good services. It’s just a fake environment, where the food is definitely not worth the price. Once again, I’ve experienced state of the art restaurant. I’d recommend anyone to not book a table if not a group of 10 or more. Otherwise they will put you far from the action. Better spend the same amount of money at PPP.
Very trendy place with lots of hype to it so decided to check it out. Location - In the more busier section of Tulum. Parking - I believe they do have a on-site parking and on street parking in this section. Service - Great service except in order to get a real feel for the place you gotta pay some to be out by the beach and get a better vibe of the place. Price - Upscale restaurant and drink prices but typical for Tulum. Venue - Very nice place with great decor and good music. Pool is tiny. Food / Drinks - Food was very good and so was the drinks. Overall it was a cool experience but probably would check out other spots before considering to come back.
I loved everything about Taboo! The scenery is breathtaking. The music selection could have been a bit better, but that wasn’t a “real” issue. I highly recommend visiting Taboo. There are many little bars and food places nearby if you are looking for other places to go afterwards.
