The best chilaquiles I’ve had, seriously! I’m from Mexico City and I can tell you I had a great Mexican breakfast. Hot chocolate which tasted like Chocolate Abuelita, Chilaquiles El Correo with different sauces and a 100% natural orange/carrott juice. They didn’t have “pan dulce” though, so we had toasted croissants with butter and jelly which were delicious. Prices were accessible for every budget. Would I return to this place? Absolutely!

So easy to walk by this Hidden Jewel where the local eat. We were the only Gringos in the place except for a couple that move here 5 years ago from the States and said it was their favorite restaurant in SMA. Simple, small menu with traditional dishes. My Chile Relleno with chicken was delicious. My husband chose the Chicken Enchilada with Ranchero sauce and cleaned his plate! Service was fast and friendly. I had a Corona and he drank a Pina Colada. With a generous tip it totaled 26.00 USD. I recommend it. Make it your place to eat while you are staying in San Miguel de Allende, MX

I want to like this place but I have been twice and it is just ok. After eating red enchiladas covered in potato and carrot at Chucho el Roto in Querétaro, in Guanajuato and at Xotolar ranch in San Miguel, I found the red enchiladas at El Correo very lacking in flavor. The sopes are doughy and not crisp and the Chile en Nogada was ok but not the best I have had in Mexico. I won’t go back. We tried it twice and that is enough. The staff is lovely but the food isn’t that good.

Great food, friendly service, good pricing. Our second visit, again the food was perfect. Try the steaks, they are amazingly good.
