The Language Institute of the Americas (LIOTA), is an immersive language-learning program that utilizes the most innovative and effective teaching practices to engage learners and aids in developing the critical skills that will help them succeed in today’s global society. We utilize unconventional and personalized approaches to language learning to help each student learn in the way that is best for his or her learning style. Utilizing relevant cultural materials like TED Talks, YouTube videos, and music, our inventive practices assure that learners master the language while engaging in meaningful experiences that will immerse them in the language’s cultural currencies. We are currently the only educational contractor in Merida, Yucatan providing ESL instruction to both children and adults alike. We currently work with more than 15 schools all around the city, helping them achieve important skills that will aid in cultural understanding and appreciation, professional marketability, and foster positive cross-cultural interactions. LIOTA also offers computer programming and coding courses to both children and adults alike to enhance our students’ toolboxes with a skill that global employers covet. We are proud to offer our language programs and the services of our experienced and caring teachers to students across the globe. We offer on-campus housing options for international students looking to travel and stay on-site for an especially immersive cultural learning program. Our on-site housing offers single or dorm-style accommodation options and access to a number of amenities, including a swimming pool.
