The Technological Museum of the Federal Electricity Commission (MUTEC), was inaugurated on November 20, 1970, originally focused on the branch of electric power. The MUTEC is located in the 2nd section of Chapultepec Forest in Mexico City, Mexico. The museum is considered as the first interactive science museum that was created in Latin America. The MUTEC has the following rooms: - Physics, is an interactive sample for learning Physics and Mathematics - The house of saving electric energy, is an interactive model of a house, where you learn how to save electricity - Electrópolis, History of the great inventions related to electricity - Pura Enegergía Pura, contains information on the processes of generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electricity - RoboThespian, a robot is in charge of interacting with visitors. The humanoid is fully interactive and fully articulated. It is the fourth in the continent, and the first in Latin America to be used for that purpose. Technological Garden, it has several games and interactive elements, which are related to Physics, Mathematical Logic, Topology, Astronomy, Geology and Music.

It is permanently closed since three years ago. So don't even bother to plan a visit. It is a clear sign of what is the Mexican government interest and approach/support towards science and technology. Null and void

My children and I walked to this location and when we arrived we saw the sign that stated it was closed until further notice. The sign was dated from 2015. Luckily the Féria de Chapultepec was open so we had an alternative option.

We walked around the back, following the paths through the kids section and on to the trains. There were some.smaller trains on the grass that looked like the could be climbed on, yet when we did a women came out and said no climbing the trains, and this whole section is closed. But there were no signs or anything to indicate that. I've also uploaded a photo summarizing the confusion with this museum- a rail carriage that has stairs leading up to window to have a look, yet also a sign saying 'no climbing'.

Un excelente lugar, espero que pronto reabra sus puertas nuevamente para continuar visitarlo. Lugares de esparcimiento, diversión, pero sobre todo, de aprendizaje, deben estar siempre abiertos y disponibles.
