I was walking by and happened to step into this place and was swept away! Such a fabulous gem and what makes it incredible are the stories and wealth of knowledge that is shared. It’s a tiny space but learned so much from the guide. An incredible donation based project.

Really surprisingly amazing little museum. Filieppe (our guide) really brought all the pieces to life with stories. I would 100% recommend!

Marty was wonderful, she welcomed us and guided us through MUREM and its intimate collection of textiles from Yucatan and Mexico's southern states with such knowledge and passion, we were so impressed and inspired. She entertained and educated us (in Spanish) for 45 minutes, telling us indigenous stories and ceremonial customs and details of everyday life as they related to the design and functionality of each unique garment and their wearers - priests, farmers, dancers... Marty also kindly shared specific details of textile hand-craftsmanship and how to recognise each technique and material used. I am looking forward to returning again as this collection grows! So grateful for this experience and would highly recommend!!

Filieppe was an excellent. Very pleasant and enjoyable experience. Took about an hour to tour this tiny gem of a museum. The museum displays numerous costumes from different time periods and states within Mexico. Clean washrooms. Recommended donation 100 pesos per non mexican adult. Our guide showed us the differences in materials used. Recommended.

Exquisite collection from all regions of Mexico, from early 1900s to present. Fascinating explanations of costumes and history from Phillipe, who made the clothes come alive!

It's a little museum and, when you get in, it seems that there are few things to see. But then the guide arrives and explains, for each dress, it's coming region, the use, and the story of it. So you have the opportunity to understand a lot regional culture that you cannot get in any other way as a tourist. The regional dresses are still locally used in the special occasions, but, as it has already happened in other places, globalization is makes regional costumes to disappear . Therefore it's important that this fundamental part of culture and tradition is kept and preserved.

This museum has been one of the best experiences we have had yet in Valladolid! It is a small museum but when the young lady gave us a tour of the different regions of Mexico, it was fascinating! The guide was so kind and even gave us references for other things to see. This is a must see museum! :)

Amazing place. Went in there with two kids (9 and 5) for a break and had the best experience in Valladolid. A wonderful museum host and (I presume) the owner spent 45 minutes telling us stories about each piece of clothing, keeping both kids listening patiently throughout. At the end they both said it was the most memorable experience of the day. Well worth visiting!
