Still closed on Feb 13th. Says it'll open in March, possibly. Hopefully they use this time to finish construction projects in there

Educational. Learned quite a bit, but it could be better. Aquarium does not have AC or fans, so it can get quick warm inside. The rest of the exhibits are outdoors. Entrance fee is 37 pesos. I Probably dedicated 2hrs tops for the entire site. If you want to skip it, you'll be fine.
This place was amazing. They have a vast collection of turtles. Once they complete rebuilding, it will be 5 stars.
Amazing place when you can learn a lot of the sea turtles and the turtles from the region
Great little space where they have all sorts of turtles (land and sea), and educate people on the importance of conserving and rebuilding the turtle population. Only costs 34 pesos to enter, so if you have a spare hour, go visit!
Great museum that's showcases many variety of American (North, South, Central) turtles. This center was built to remove the focus from consumption and use to preservation of local sea turtles. This is low season and the center is currently remodeling and expanding the exhibit space. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. One can also volunteer here (see pics for info). Cost 35 MXN. Can't beat it.
There are many different types of turtles here and it is great to see (particularly the sea turtles) close up. However it seems like the project is perhaps a little underfunded. I got the impression that maybe they had begun a renovation but had run out of money as it seems unfinished. Some enclosures are empty and many of the enclosures are quite small. Some looked too small to me, but I'm no expert on how much space turtles require so I may be wrong on this. I certainly didn't get the impression the animals were being exploited just that maybe more resources are required. I understand they do very good conservation work and rescue eggs from poachers, releasing the baby turtles to the sea at a later date, however we didn't see anything about this, perhaps we visited at the wrong time of year.
Really neat to get out and see how other cultures are caring for their wildlife and enviroment. This was fun and educational and we really enjoyed all the little (and big) tortugas!
