Fantastic experience with Auden and the team at Mahahual Dive Centre. I did the basic diver class as I've never dove before and was apprehensive about diving in just any old dive shop. Auden was amazing, so friendly, patient and experienced. After the initial skills tutorial on the shore I was confident enough to head out and dive off the boat with my instructor there the whole time. The water is crystal clear and you can see some amazing fish. Highly recommended for beginners and the more advanced divers alike.
One of the best dive shops I've come across in my 20 years diving. Genuinely friendly and sensitive to each customer's needs. Everyone at the shop was very professional and hardworking. They took great care of my gear and their rental gear looked brand new. Nice long bottom times, too!
I went diving for the first time in Mahahual and ended up doing my open water certificate with Ernesto as my guide. The equipment is in great condition and everyone is extremely professional. On top of that it's a relaxed family like atmosphere and I was having a suberp time. Highly recommended!
We had a great time at Mahahual Dive Centre! My partner and I did three dives on 9-Jan-2019 with Jorge. Excellent service from Jorge, we felt we were in very good hands. Their boat, Calypso, is clean, comfortable and in good working order and El Capitan (Victor) and Daniel were excellent. The shop almost has a family vibe about it and we enjoyed hanging out a bit and chatting afterwords. The diving was very good. Very close to shore and a short comfortable ride. Clear, calm conditions helped. Visibility was good and saw spotted eagle rays, moray eels, hard and soft coral and lots of different fish. On 11-Jan my mother and friend (both non-divers) joined us for a snorkel trip which far exceeded our expectations. We were extremely lucky and saw multiple turtles, spotted eagle rays, and tons of other marine life. Definitely would highly recommend this shop and would use again when visiting Mahahual.
Rarely do you find a dive shop that exceeds expectations the way Mahahual Dive Center did. We were looking to do some fun dives and talking to Norma had us sold for this place. I ended up doing my advanced and my wife did basic certification. Jorge, Auden, the boat staff, everyone is just amazing at what they do. They make you feel at home and like family. Jorge and Norma also took time out to teach my wife swimming and we’ll always have a love for these guys. Hasta Luego!
