The staff at Kira's welcomed my husband and I after a different hotel had cancelled our reservation (overbooked) the day we arrived. At first, I was very upset because I had researched a place to stay months before, and had not heard of Kira's. However, it was more than what I could have asked for! Friendly staff, amazing food, and just check out those views!! The staff works on keeping the beachfront clean. Although I did not take my children on this trip, many other guests had small children and seemed very comfortable. There were no interruptions from parties or anything else, just could hear the waves at night. Breakfast was AMAZING! The reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is because the hotel needs a bit updating (no hot water, a bit of older lounge chairs). I should state that I only stayed for one day (we had traveled to city from city), so not having a fridge or microwave in the room did not bother us since there is a restaurant downstairs and many others along the street. But if you are planning to stay there for a couple of days or weeks, especially if you have little ones, keep that in mind.

Arriving in Tulum, we were looking for a hotel to stay at the beach. As mentioned here, a lot of the places along the beach side ask exorbitant prices for small rooms. We didn’t think Keniza was cheap, (100 per night for the biggest room, no breakfast), but it was very comfortable. We stayed in room 5 which has the best balcony, overlooking the beach and ocean. All rooms are quite spacious, too! The location can’t be beat here, all the nicest restaurants and bars are within 10 min walking distance here. It feels very safe, even at night. The best thing about the hotel is the staff, Lola and Marco. Both are so kind and helpful, giving tips, helping you find your way and accommodating you in every way possible. Thanks for making the stay feel homey! We were honestly sad to have to leave. Please be aware that most hotels in Tulum are eco-chic. In Keniza this means only AC from 8pm-8am, which means you can’t cool off during the day or use any (heavy) electronics such as blow dryer and such. The rooms don’t have lockers, which some might find bothersome.
very relaxing, clean, and friendly beach side hotel to stay at. Nora and Yeseni were always helpful and welcoming while we stayed at Keniza. I stayed in rm4 for 5 nights in late October 2019. Rooms are clean with lots of space, good showers, a/c, multiple fans and a comfortable seating area in the room and a great semi-private balcony out front with amazing view and breeze. Beautiful colourful hotel with lots of beach side loungers to relax in privately, the beach is very clean at Keniza, clear water with no seaweed at the time of year of my stay. Lots of options to eat and drink close by. One of the big pros of Keniza is the shared kitchen where you can store groceries in the fridge and cook if you’d like - very convenient if you prefer to make breakfast or lunch on your own and keep some drinks cold! Nora, thank you so much for being so welcoming during our stay and especially for putting coffee on early every morning ️. 100% would stay again
Beautiful boutique hotel with amazing art. The beach is beautiful and we were able to buy groceries and cook our own meals in their complete kitchen.
Views are killer in this tranquil beach getaway. The owners were really friendly and flexible, and dealt really well with a number of maintenance issues that arose. The rooms are clean, with comfy beds, and fans during the day and aircon at night. Hotel is on the main drag in Tulum, surrounded by jungle, delicious restaurants, and obviously amazing beaches.
Relaxing place with great friendly staff and owner. Place was always very clean and lots of space. If you stay in rooms 4 or 5 you have your own balcony. There are many places to eat and order drinks close by (practically neighbours) so it’s no worry that Kenzia doesn’t have their own bar/restaurant. I would highly recommend this place!
WOW I LOVED IT HERE! The staff is friendly, the location is perfect, the weather in Tulum is beautiful and its right next to a lot of wonderful attractions and activities. I recently stayed and I know they underwent changes in management (and a name change) and renovations so I would imagine any reviews that are negative are mostly likely from before the renovations happen. I can attest to now anything that wasn't good before is amazing.
Omg I loved this place SO much. It has heart and soul. I actually got the flu (I brought with me) and sweet Lola made me breakfast twice, checked in on me numerous times and was the kindest person I’d met. The whole place was just easy and comfortable. Loved all the colors and murals!
