I stayed in a little motel across the street. This is THE Jardin of Zacatecas, and I have fond memories of strolling through it as a kid with my mother and buying a paleta from the wagons. It's small, and if there's not an event going on, it's really just a nice place to sit in the shade, admire the church, and listen to the birds. Walking distance from the market, and a nice place to sit and watch the cab drivers polish and touch up the pain on their little white and yellow taxi cabs that they're so fond of. Last week I saw cab driver 22 on his knees with a tiny paintbrush making very precise micro strokes near the back fender. It's nice to see someone so proud of their trade.
