The Interamerican Society of Cardiology (SIAC) is a nonprofit association formed by the National Societies of Cardiology of the American Continent. Founded in Mexico on April 18, 1944, a result of the visionary mind of Dr. Ignacio Chavez. The objective of the Society is to unite the Societies of Cardiology of all the countries of the Americas for the advancement of Cardiology, to promote research, teaching and the association of physicians, surgeons, and researchers specialized in this field. To promote the optimal cardiovascular health in the population of the Americas through education and the continuous professional development of its members. To unite the Cardiovascular Societies representing all the countries of the Americas to ease the advancement of the cardiovascular science, by means of: a) Promoting research and exchange. b) Supporting graduate level education and the continuous professional development. c) Granting a value to being a member of the “Society”.
