The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit out of the way and there isn't much to do in the very small town surrounding the hotel. We used the hotel as a home base and took day trips to Uxmal, Mayapan, Merida, etc. While we did enjoy our stay, the hotel could use a bit of refurbishing. Keep in mind it is an old hacienda (a few hundred years old), but a fresh coat of paint and some simple patch work would have it back in good condition. The pavement is uneven and might be difficult for the elderly to walk on. The grounds are large with lots of stuff to see. Ask for a tour and you will be amazed at the history. Also, if you like to walk, take a trip to the local cenote "Cenote Sacamucuy" about a mile and a half away. You can take a nice dip, walk back, and then relax by the hotel's pool.

Beautiful place very interesting how they kept the machines visible that where used in the olden days for the production of sisal. The pool is great. The massage room is very nice just a pity that they charge a lot if it would be cheaper people would use it a lot more. The food is not up to standard for a hotel that is so beautiful. I would also recommend a walk true the little town very friendly people.
