Approximately 519 pesos (26 US) for a round trip ticket. Take the yellow sea ferry instead of the orange. They have live music and the trip seems to be more festive. I can take anywhere between 35 and 45 minutes to reach Cozumel from Playa del Carmen or coming back. Obviously, don't lose your ticket. You get one ticket that you must use for both trips. Price is fairly reasonable, but it adds up if your have a large group. I believe that do group discounts, but only for larger groups.

They're polite when they speak to you in English but they're comfortable being disrespectful of you because they think you don't understand Spanish. Most \hate\ tourists but they need your money. They assume they're not racist because they're Hispanic. Ignorance is global. But I pity them in their ignorance. Sometimes they forget to be ignorant and in those moments they can be nice. Too bad that doesn't last long. Oh well, I came for the beaches not the people.
Either taxi or shuttle will take you to the ship launch site in Cancun. There are other side vendors selling tickets but I advise purchasing from the ferry service directly. The ferry runs throughout the day until 8pm. About one run per hour. The ferry ride is fairly easy and smooth. Strollers, wheelchairs are all accessible. The ferry sells snacks and beverages and there are bathrooms. Bring sunscreen because you will pay 2x in Cozumel. Enjoy!
Good A.C. on the bottom deck. Safe smooth trip. The water was a little rough but the captain handled it well.
When you purchase your tickets make sure that you buy the ticket for the newest nicest Ferry which is the Ultramar. Only purchase your ticket one way and not a round trip. That way if you decide to sightsee a little more you are not restricted to the exact time on the ticket.
