Very unique place, very historical. We did the tour with a guide so we could have an explanation of the workings of the hacienda. Most of the hacienda is in ruins especially after the earthquake, so u highly recommend a guide. The dangerous parts are sealed off but, i do recommend some caution and not for small children unless you plan on not venturing very far. There are public restrooms at the entrance but like most public restrooms in Mexico there is a small fee 3 pesos (less 25 cents, annoying but it helps keep the bathrooms clean). No food at the hacienda but a lot of small local stands outside that sell snacks.

It is closed now due the Corona crisis but even from outside it is pretty cool. The whole hacienda ground must be huge.

It's a legendary place. Here some revolutionary precept began. \Tierra y libertad\ I recommend visit it with the Turibus, because they explained to you perfectly all the story around this place. It's not expensive and it's a one and half hour tour.
