Excellent place to visit and check the great pyramid that has some original paintings. It is really amazing and incredible how they built these pyramids and how well nowadays they maintain them in good conditions. I highly recommend to visit this place and take as many pictures as possible.

A must near Mexico City. Beautiful ruins but specially the paintings. There is a small walk from the parking lot. Perfect to visit when the weather is not too hot. Friendly staff. Easy to find.

These ruins get you up close and personal to ancient life here. The murals are still well-preserved, but the small museum has newly painted versions where you can see them come to life. I recommend visiting the ruins first and then seeing the museum on the way out.

Different than other pyramid sites as this includes ancient paintings and mixed architecture from the same period. Definitely, this site stands above others. Even the sculptures and statues are different. I did not see a working restaurant in site however at the very entrance there are food vendors that keep quite busy. We ate with the last to the right food stand as you go in the park. It was really tasty and very affordable and best of all, we did not get sick! The cook was not handling money as most of them tend to do. The memorabilia stands are average, I could not find something decent representative of Xochitecatl & Cacaxtla. Beautiful area, no parking however there are private parking places outside of archeological area to leave the vehicle. Expect lots of walking, people with disabilities must provide their own mode of accessibility as the site does not have carts to move people around and it is not have wheelchair access in 90% of the park.

The great basin! Quite astonishing view from here of the volcanoes and the valley. Definitely impressed with the restoration work being done at the moment of the visit but still wonderful frescoes preserved through time
