I would just like to express my satisfaction with the professional conduct, patience and the treatment I received at the main crossing of the San Luis R.C. Son Port of Entry. Through my own ignorance and negligence I failed to declare a mini-bike I crossed into San Luis for repair on 02/19/30. The keen-eyed Official at the primary point referred me to the secondary inspection for inspection. The two female inspectors( no name tags) dealt with my situation and although both were a little stern, exbibited nothing but professionalism and patience in explaining to me the policies, procedures and my violation. I was expecting the worst, namely, having my mini-bike seized or having to pay a substantial fine. The customs officer kept me apprised of the developing investigation and after about 30 minutes, she advised me that I would be allowed to return to the U.S. and she further educated me on the error of my ways! As U.S. citizens, I'm sure we have pre-conceived notions of the conduct of Mexican Law enforcement but these civil service employees were fair, polite and respectful and very professional in carrying out their duties. Thank you again for the fair treatment I received.
