We had a blast! This was our first time rafting and we had our kids (11 and 14) with us, so we were a little nervous. But our guide, Edward, was very friendly, and very thorough with the rules and instructions. We saw the waterfall inside the mountain, drank water from a fresh mountain spring, and rowed until our arms were tired. We fell into the water a couple of times but it was fun. We also stopped a couple of times in the calm part of the river and we were able to swim for a few minutes. It lasted about 3 hours, from 2:30-5:30pm. It was the hottest part of the day, so use sunscreen and take water with you. We parked our car by their office, and they drove us out on a little bus. They have the guide, a 2nd guide to even out our number to 6 for a balanced raft, plus a 3rd guide in a kayak who took pictures of us. We paid 15 (US) for a CD with the over 100 pictures he took. Then they drove us back. We did get very wet so bathing suits are best. They also have little houses you can rent for overnight stays, plus a swimming pool, a fire pit area, dinner and breakfast. For 5 of us, it would've been under 500, including the rafting. Only because we were already starting nearby that we didn't take that deal. The staff was great, the river was beautiful, and the rafting was an awesome experience. Definitely want to go back!

The staff was incredible! They absolutely went way out of their way to help us out. The cabins were very nice, the food was awesome, and the grounds were incredible! They had a large amount of boats for rent and they were in good condition. I'll be back for sure!

The Alseseca River and surrounding area of Vera Cruz is a great kayaking destination for class 4 and 5 paddlers, especially if you want to run a bunch of beautiful waterfalls, but what makes it great is Aventurec. They have created the perfect set up for kayakers and rafters. Located in a lush, tropical setting just outside the small city of Tlapacoyan, Aventurec provides lodging, meals, kayak rentals, river shuttles, information and logistical help, and a pleasant place to hang out and relax. So, all you need to do is show up and go paddling and they take care of the rest. If you need a rest day, there is plenty to do and see in the surrounding countryside, including ruins and waterfalls, and in the bustling town of Tlapacoyan. Or you can just hang out on the grounds at Aventurec and enjoy the tropical birds and eat the delicious food they prepare for breakfast add dinner every day. I have been to Aventurec on two separate paddling trips and will definitely return. Every year more sections of steep whitewater are explored and opened up. Plus, there are the classic runs like the Big Banana, Roadside, and Lower Jalacingo which are excellent runs, worth the trip by themselves. The only drawback to paddling in this area is that the rivers are contaminated with sewage and there is a strong chance that you will get sick with a GI bug for at least one day while you're there. But Aventurec is used to sick gringos, add they will take care of you.
