Well kept location. Not ruined (no pun intended) by mass tourism yet. You can climb the tower also, yay! I would highly recommend visiting this place. Forget Uxmal forget Ek’Balam, go here!

Cheap, 50 pesos to get in but no structures at all, just a bathroom at the entrance. No credit/debit cards are accepted, no place to store backs which is good. Very nice to walk around and spend part of the afternoon. Not a LOT of ruins but worth the visit nonetheless.

Five stars for a couple of reasons! #1 we were the only people on the site for the first hour - had the place to ourselves #2 You are allowed to climb the pyramid! This is a easy 45 minute drive from central Merida on a two lane freeway. We arrived on site at 8:45 am on a Saturday and found we were the only ones there - AND we could climb to the top of the pyramid! If you are in Merida - do take the time to visit the site!

Is a small but very nice Mayan city. Here you are allowed to climb on the pyramids and see everything from above.

impressive ruins. you can actually climb onto the pyramids. During workdays there are very few people. Entrance fee is 50p. The signs don't explain much about Mayan culture though.

Great place. All the ruins are in one main area. Many you are allowed to climb on. It was overcast and sprinkled a bit of rain, but that was perfect weather for a day seeing ruin sites.

We loved it! We did the tour through an AirBnB Experience so do not know the entrance fee, but with all of the climbing and exploring (3 pyramids, 1 round temple, and a temple dedicated to fisherman) it is a steal at any price. The best part was the photos we were able to take on top of the pyramids! Have a bit of free time, and want an enjoyable 6-8hr day trip? Mayan Ruins and Cenotes w/Antonio will be unforgettable AirBnB Experience! Jus bring your gear and relax because transport, drinks snacks, and lunch is included. For Mayapan we suggest you get the on-site guide – they turn a 45min walkabout into a 90min lesson about the indigenous peoples (i.e. the Olmec, Maya, Zapotec, Teotihuacan, and Mixtec), their culture, and their architectural styles. -\tHaving gone to all three (with a tour guide), I would like to help you choose which to visit; if let’s say you only have time for one: 1. Go to Mayapan, because you can climb the pyramids and interact with the site. The pyramids are the highest point as far as the eye can see – in all directions - you will feel on top of the world! 2. Go to Uxmal, because it’s gorgeous – there is lush trees almost swallowing the city. You can go inside a few of the structures, there are many angles for fantastic photos, and there is a dynamite chocolate museum across the highway. 3. Chichen Itzá will have the most people (there are no vendors at the other two sites), you will have the least amount of interaction as everything is cordoned off. Don’t get me wrong, Chichen Itzà is great! It just loses a few points for me, because it’s the road most travelled. Let's Connect, Be sure to check out @Brazilsontour (IG)

I would highly recommend visiting this site while it flies below the radar of most tourists. You will share the site with only few travellers, making for a very intimate and different experience. Transportation is obviously an issue but the entry fee is low.
