The acopio is presently doing renovation, they are in need of food, pet beds pet supplies money anything that you can provide would be helpful. A lot of good people devoting their time to keep the well-being of the animals there, many of the animals have been severely abused, neglected and famished. I made my rounds with all the dogs and 99% of the dogs were very responsive licking me and very happy and of course there is always one or two Barker's but they always come around.

The vets and staff truly care about the animals and it's great to see such active volunteers come in and help out. Although it looked like some of the dogs were walking the volunteers rather than the other way around. Thank you Dr Mullinix for coming in to assist with the spay/neuter program. See pics. The Accopio, as it is also known also offers very affordable surgeries on Mondays and Thursdays. Reservation required. Typically 30-50 % less than a regular local vet. See pic of price sheet.

Great shelter for local animals. Very well-maintained with a strong volunteer organization. They always appreciate more volunteer help to walk the dogs and help them clean the place. Lots of nice, healthy dogs and cats waiting for adoption. If you're looking for a pet in Puerto Vallarta, this is the place to find one.
