Best restaurant in Zipolite! We've had a great dinner here, appetizers, main dishes, deserts, cocktails. Everything was amazing. Paid around 500 pesos tip for each for a full full full dinner.

Tasteful and, at times, experimental food. Live music was an added bonus. It's the best known place in town so came with a bit of attitude unfortunately in a village known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere...

One of my favorite restaurants in Mazunte. Beautiful quaint decoration that makes you just want to stay there chatting and eating all night. The waiting room is beautiful, you feel like you are in someone’s living room. Even if you’re not looking to have a full dinner this is a great place for a drink and a quick bite. Flavors were delicious and very inventive. The Chile Amarillo filled with cheese and quince was spectacular. We loved it so much we ordered it twice. The empanadas de camarón were also outstanding. Will definitely come back when I find myself in zipolite again.

Lovely little restaurant. Off the beaten path but a true gem in the area. Traditional Mexican food with a finesse twist. Very homey and pleasant experience. Have the Chiles empanizados truly Delicious

We had dinner at La Providencia in February, 2021. Friends made reservations for six of us, three couples. We arrived and were escorted to the seating area, where we enjoyed wine - ours was a nice merlot - and ordered from the menu. Then we were seated at our table. Our appetizers and salad arrived first. The "house" salad was a delight, garnished with sliced mango and apples and the dressing was flavorfully home made mustard vinaigrette. I ordered the beef medallions in red wine and rosemary reduction. It was served with sautteed potatoes, green beans and rice. My hubby ordered the shrimp with tamarind sauce, on a bed of rice noodles, broccoli and onions. The presentation was outstanding. Mine came with two generous beef medallions and his contained six jumbo shrimp. We split our orders and shared them as a surf and turf. Everything was absolutely mouthwateringly delicious! The service was impeccable and the live music by Asnos Cuerdos was wonderfully entertaining. We had flan for dessert and Amaretto. The big surprise was how reasonable the bill was for such five star dining.

First and foremost, this place gave my partner food poisoning and ruined our last day in Zipolite. She ate the fish cake appetizer thing and we are sure that’s what made her sick. Vomited for 24 hours. Everyone says this is the best place in town but even before she was sick we were underwhelmed. Slow service and gross food. My coconut shrimp seemed like it was from Long John Silvers and her Mahi tasted rancid. Also, not sure what the child labor laws are like here but a boy under 12 was definitely serving us and busing our table. *this additional response was added after reading the owner’s response. There is a fish cake dish on your appetizer menu that is served over plantains which she ate and was immediately sick once we got home and for the entire next day with food poisoning. You even came over to our table to see why we didn’t finish our meals but we didn’t want to be impolite as she wasn’t sick yet. And yes, we switched from eating the unfinished shrimp and fish to a chocolate mouse and Negronis because we wanted to change the flavor pallet. Our card games were fun, and we try to make the best of things but felt strongly after the experience that we needed to write this review.

The best in town! Javier and Paco run the place with elegance, style and character that give this place a smart and quirky feel, though no high heels here. The food is delicious and varied, the menu is international with a Mexican touch. Cocktails are great, wine selection is limited but fine. The music is perfect for the place, though sometimes street musicians occupy the scene. We went here many times and always had a great night.
