Very nice and relaxed tour! We visited an old maya town with temples and after this we where driven to the beach where the driver is waiting for you to pick you up and bring you back to the entry of the terminal for cruise ships. Our driver named Carlos explained us all the thinks we wanted to know and was very friendly.

We visited Costa Maya via a cruise ship with no particular plans. We booked a tour through Toucan Tours to the Mayan ruins at Chacchoben. The price was reasonable, we didn’t get ripped off on the credit card transaction fee (5 on a 100 tour for 2 people). We were driven in an air-conditioned van to the archaeological site. Our guide was a great driver, spoke very good English, about the area and the Mayan history. He was helpful and we felt comfortable in his care. So if you rant a tour you can bypass all those expensive tour companies right on the pier. Go out the pier gates. Walk towards the large Mayan style fountain you can see from the ship and take a chance. We will use them again the next time we are in the area.

We just had an amazing experience with them! Our Guide Joel was awesome and super friendly! Our driver Antonio was super professional and efficient. Instead of going to the ruins with hundreds of people, we arrived there before the cruise excursions so we were able to take a lot of great pictures with the whole place for ourselves... The whole company is local so they know what they are talking about. We definitely had a great time! The price was much better than the one offered by the cruise company. And by the end of it they will ask you if you want to visit one of the beaches here in Costa Maya at no additional cost. Totally recommend them!

We take the "risk" and get an external tour by ourself. Let me tell you, it was my best experience in my whole trip (15 days). They take us to Chacchobben the Mayan Ruis, to a family that sell lot of delicious foods and to eat carnitas like a real Mexican. Our tour guide was Gustavo, such an amazing guy. He's well prepared and talks a lot, that's good believe me. The bus driver was amazing to, jimer, what a great guy. If I get to Costa maya I wouldn't doubt to go again with Gus Gus and Jimer. Thanks boys!

I loved every experience. Our tour guide Eliseo was very knowledgeable, passionate, professional, and humble. The experience at Chichoben was like no other and the food and shopping at Mahahual was grand. This is a local business outside the port of Costa Maya that I recommend to EVERYONE. Please support the local businesses. Great job Eliseo and all. Keep up the great work.

We booked this tour on Expedia before we went on a Caribbean cruise. The location is about a 7 minute walk from the pier- relatively easy to find. Highly recommend the tour- it was very informative. Our guide, Joel, was very friendly and professional. The van was clean and the driver got us around without any problems. It is great to support a local business, so I would highly recommend using them instead of booking through your cruise line where most of those profits go directly to the large companies. The Mayan ruins were awesome to see, then we went to the beach after and had lunch and swam.

Michael, the manager, from Toucan Tours sold us wristbands for Kimbara Beach Club. He described it as a beautiful private beach with lounge chairs, bathroom, showers, kayaking, and snorkelling. He charged 15 each for access and then got a taxi driver to bring us there which would be another 8 total. The taxi driver brought us 4 blocks away from the beach club and said he had no idea where it was! We had to walk and ask people where to go.. Finally make it there and it’s a tiny spot with old beach chairs and all rocks before entering the water! They do have a couple of kayaks that people were always using and NO snorkelling equipment! Plus they said they only charge 10 per person and were shocked that someone sold us access for more than that. What a scam!!!!
