Rented a 2 door hard top Jeep. Dash was lit up like a Christmas tree with check engine, tpms and traction control lights. With that being said it rode fine and I had no problems with it. Saved money by reserving ahead of time online. Just be careful when stopping for gas on the way back, the gas stations prey on ripping off tourists at the pump. That is not a reflection of a smooth transaction of the Jeep rental itself just something to be aware of.

We rented a Jeep here to drive around Cozumel! Great experience and friendly staff! That evening when we were lost in an unfamiliar part of town, they came and got us!
We rented a Jeep to drive all over the island, and it was a great day! We reserved ahead of time, and the staff was friendly and answered all questions via email before we arrived on the island. The Jeep was on the newer but had some dash lights on. But the A/C worked beautifully, and it drove fine. We paid cash and got a discount for having a reservation. Warning to renters: when refueling to return, watch the gas pumps and ask for a receipt. We got scammed by Pemex gas as they distract you and then change the pumps. The SolyMar staff was apologetic but warned that can happen.
We had 6 people in our group, rented a 4 door Jeep and a 2 door Jeep. Both jeeps were in rough shape and so I videoed the jeeps. Here is we’re you need to watch it, we drove barely 25 miles and my gas gauge didn’t budge of full and when I brought it back they tried to charge me 15 dollars for 9.00 of gas. I’d say fill up before you take it back. Honestly I was worried about making it back. Low maintained vehicles not good when you have to make it back or get stuck. I would not go here on our next vacation to Cozumel.
We rented a scooter from SolyMar for 2 days last week (January 2018). It was a Honda in excellent overall condition. Our experience was great.The salesman was wonderful. Never tried to hard sell us. He went over the vehicle with us so thoroughly, documenting every little scratch. He knew we were concerned about getting charged for something we didn't do. He was exceedingly patient with us. We got a great price - 20/day. Hucksters on the mainland that worked for other companies kept telling us their 45 offer was half the price that we'd be able to get a scooter for once on the island. Wait to rent till you get to Cozumel and go to SolyMar.
