We rented a car during our visit to Playa Del Carmen and decided we would spend a few days in Cozumel. We took the auto ferry without any issues. We arrived about 2 hours early each way to ensure we got a spot and there wasn't any issues at all with capacity. The ride to Cozumel was an older boat and the one on the way home was much newer and cleaner. If you're going to visit, I would highly recommend taking a car to Cozumel or renting one there just because it is such a wonderful drive around the island.

Docking one star for no employees that explain the system. Docking a second for not having signs up to explain the system. Docking another star for having a system that puts people out in the sun for more than four hours. Docking another star for not being able to buy a ticket in advance.

Ferry between Cozumel and Playa del Carmen for cars and trucks. (What's wrong with Google's assigned English name???) Pay across the street before entering the dock! You'll avoid standing in line TWICE!

Para pasar hay que estar por lo menos tres horas antes, de lo contrario no logras cupo, no sé si es por la pandemia pero solo salen tres ferrys diarios y no dan abasto. Se puede reservar cupo hasta 24 horas antes de la salida, pero el ticket cuesta el doble. Si hay mal tiempo suspenden el servicio y puede que faciliten una ruta extraordinaria pero tendrás que pasar todo el día en la fila para ver si alcanzas cupo y eso sí llegaste temprano, sino olvidalo
