A great place for shopping (fruits and veggies, clothing, electronics, etc) and rubbing shoulders with the locals at casual eateries featuring standard local dishes. Excellent too for working on your Spanish-language skills with vendors.

I had visited San Juan de Dios Market several times before realizing I had never been there at all! There are so many vendors just to the north of this market in Mercado Plaza Guadalupe that I had not made it all the way here. It is between San Rafael and Indio Triste streets. It has lots of produce, small restaurants and more at good prices.
