Everything was good until we got on the boat. The captain new his job very well! He got the boat to the fish and we actually landed a marlin. The deck hand didn't communicate anything to us. It was about an hour out and then he started fishing for bait fish. We didn't know what was happening and just sat and watched for quite awhile. When he finally gave us a pole it was put in the fish holder. We didn't know what a bite would be like or what to do. He did hand us one pole to catch bait fish, but there was nothing to catching a fish that will bite anything! The deck hand would run over and grab the pole if he saw that there was a potential bit. He did not make sure that we both were set up to fish. Then he set up three marlin poles and let us sit by two of them, as soon as a marlin was near, he took the pole to try to hook the marlin. We hooked two marlin and landed one. The first one was hooked by the deck hand and I attempted, with no instruction, to hook the second one. They deck hand said to let him hook the fish! After we caught the first marlin, I explained that we would rather fish then sit and watch, especially since we couldn't take the fish home with us. After that, the deck hand stopped talking all together. He gave us a pole then went and sat up with the captain under cover. We were not offered anything to drink and were kept out in the full sun the whole trip. Over all, this was a very expensive boating trip. Very disappointing.
