Was looking for something different and found this place! Bone marrow was great accompanied by crunchy grasshoppers guacamole. They give you 4 different salsas to play with. The smoked chocolate dessert was quite different. If you go crazy for chocolate, this is definitely the one to try! I was impressed. The service was very nice, nice chill ambience.

The portions here are massive! The bone marrow had plenty of marrow and was so good we had to order another batch. The tacos were also superb and I ordered so many that I couldn't finish the paella. Oops! I liked the decor and thought that the straw roof went well with the atmosphere. The restaurant is also steps away from a bustling touristy street if you need to walk around after eating so much.
The most authentic place I’ve found in playa del carmen in more than a handful of visits. Everything was excellent, including the service. Highly recommend.
Started out with one of the best margarita I've ever had. Tortilla soup was incredible and full of flavors. The rock lobster was extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. A very notable evening and we will make sure to come back.
Two thumbs way up! Do not leave Playa with out eating at Axiote. First of all, the ambiance is fantastic. The food was very fresh, well crafted, flavorful and gave very decent portions. Try the tamarindo cocktail, I'm still having dreams about it. I will come back to Playa just to eat here again.
