Found Flavor Teller on Trip Advisor and booked it. Maaike was great, really knows her stuff. Pretty good for a transplant from Europe. The Bario Bites tour was basically a breakfast taco tour that lasted 4 hours. Well worth it. Started with a breakfast taco stand that stays open until they run out of food. Surprisingly they put the protein on top of the taco, not in, great. Next we went to Tortilleria Zaragoza, one of the few tortilleria in Mazatlán that still makes them the original way. You can but them already made or buy the corn mix to make your own. On to Dona Mary right on the Malecon to have their specialty, a fish broth with pieces of fish in , unusual and very good. Also tried a local soda, Tonicol, a vanillsa cream soda. I wish they sold it in the States. Next to Pescaderia Del Mar, also on the Malecon. A small storefront fish market that smokes fish and sell it to the local restaurants. That we had smoked marlin, very good. Next stop was the Shrimp Ladies which we had been previously, tried dry smoked, salty not for us. Chayito was our next stop, a restaurant that grew out of a food stand and now has several locations. Real local Mexican food. Had both pork and meat. Tres islas a microbrewer was next, it is fairly new but has grown rapidly that they are moving to a larger building. They produce 5 different beers, seasonal, IPA, Porter, Stout , and a flavored porter. Finally because some of the women didn't drink the beer, Maaike stopped across the street at stand that makes coconut smoothies. A great food tour not to miss if you are in Mazatlán.

We had friends highly Recommend Mikae’s Flavor Teller tour in Mazatlán. They actually have been on all 3 tours and loved them all. We chose to do the Bario Bites tour and look forward to trying her other tours in the future. The moment we met Mikae she was warm, friendly and kind. We toured and tasted food at 7 different spots. Not only did we get to try many different foods we also became much more knowledgeable about Mazatlán. I highly recommend Flavor Tellers Bario Bites tour! Thank you. We will return for your other tours as well.

If you love to discover culture through cuisine, or just love amazing local food, don't miss this Mazatlan gem. Any of the three tours will help you discover wonderful food you'd never find on your own. We took two of the tours and would have done the third if we'd been there one more day. Maaike's is a great guide and storyteller and is deeply knowledgeable about Mazatlan.

What an amazing tour, learn about the culture and eat the amazing food of the locals. Maaike was awesome. I highly recommend the Bario Bites tour. This tour made it on my top 5 list of cruise excursions.

Food tours are a great way to learn about foods of the area and some history, Mica does a good job of both things. Had many different types of tacos, nice frosty milk shake, beer, looked at risk market and shrimp market. We learned some manners in restaurants and how to order food. This is worth the money!! It rained the day we took the tour
