Being very familiar with the imported from China beads that are all used previously, but have been cleaned, sorted and restrung and sold that this place is chock full of, I have to be leery of anything else being sold. The Chinese (and Tibetans) are notorious for coating non-precious metals and stamping the hell out of them with .925 as well as selling off other people's wedding rings that are also often coated with a thin layer of silver to cover up any scratches. This type of cover up can be seen with magnification and is especially apparent near the prongs of he setting since they often don't remove the stone before coating it again with metal to resell as brand new. Also the Chinese believe that luck follows things- so if a couple got a divorce, or just got engaged then called it off, or someone died or went to prison- they might also want to sell it really cheaply (wholesale and in bulk) to Mexicans who love a good deal and something shiny. I certainly wouldn't come here thinking you are going to see some good Mexican silver and artists, that is for sure- because those days in which Mexicans could compete with the Chinese imported goods they stole from other people are over. If you sell it for less than the price of silver per ounce then guess what it is made of? And even if it were real its still probably a Chinese import that might have been robbed from a political prisoner for all we know. And we don't.
