Great experience. Be aware of the travel time and the very bad road to Punta Allen. If you get car sick easily, take some pills with you.

Gorgeous remote island paradise. Take a tour here if you do nothing else.

Lovely village which we passed through to get to the Biosphere Reserve Sian Kaan.Friendly people who live in a very small community of about 800.Lots of lizards on the big rock formation in the middle of the village.

An absolute must if you are visiting Tulum searching for a natural taste of the Caribbean coast. Miles of white sand covered in coco palms, you will love it!

If you go in the off-season, most the town is nearly empty with respect to both, tourists and locals. It's definitely a nice place to visit, but the main attraction is the drive there. Go slow and enjoy nature (just block out the occasional speeding local on the road) The street has been improved significantly (September 2019) so that a trip with basically any car is no problem. About 75% of the drive from Tulum has no potholes whatsoever. The potholes along the other 25% can easily be maneuvered.

Went on a boat tour to do dolphins and turtle spotting, then quick stop at a bird colony, snorkeling around the reef and a dip in a little secluded beach. Truly amazing and enjoyable experience. The local guides are very friendly and knowledgeable, and work together as a huge team, so that if one boat spots sea life, all of the others are notified and everyone gets a chance to see something.
