Isa was lovely to meet. She took us to the local market before and explained lots of local mexican ingredients that are used for cooking. We bought some fresh produce that we needed for our class. We were a group of 5 and ended up making so much food!! By the time we got to eating the main dish we were too full :( Pace yourselves! Menu: Reg Guac Green Tomato Guac Passionfruit Guac Pico de Gallo Fresh Cactus Salad Cooked Cactus Salad Gorditas Tikin Xic Fish Horchata Margaritas I highly recommend Isa's Cooking class. She speaks really good english so its very easy to communicate and she explains things really well. Was a really fun part of our trip, we even went back to the market the next day to buy ingredients to take home and cook :)

Isa was a lovely host for our cooking class. Our family of 4, including my father and sister who never cook, took the class with us, and the class was capped at 8 people. There were tasks for everyone to do, even those with minimal cooking interest and experience. You were able to participate as much or as little as you want. The food we made was delicious and I loved the addition of pomegranate to the guacamole. Chef Isa gave us a wonderful tour of the local market and explained the various types of chili peppers native to Mexico. I can't wait to make some of these dishes for friends back in the US. ¡Gracias!

We had a fun and inspirational experience with Chef Isa during our trip to Cancun this December 2019 - it was a pleasure to meet her, she was very friendly, kind, patient and very knowledgeable of the local cuisine. We really enjoyed shopping at the local market, picking up fresh ingredients for our dishes we cooked together. Isa showed us how to make several items, and the fish was amazing! Highly recommend this class, thank you so much for taking the time to spend with us that day!

We booked with Isa on very short notice and she was very accommodating to me and my girlfriend. Her apartment was easy to find and just off the main strip. The market tour was fantastic and she showed us all the different kinds of chilies and explained their different uses in the kitchen. Then we started to cook and prepare all the salsas, picos and condiments which were all fantastic. The main course was equally amazing. No matter your experience level she helps you cook and keeps the group on track to enjoy a great meal. Isa is the best example of Mexican hospitality, inviting us into her home, and delivering an excellent and authentic dining experience. I can't recommend it enough!

Isa’s cooking class was great! She took us through the local market and explained all about various dried peppers, spices, all sorts of local ingredients. The class itself was a blast, we made a variety of delicious food and learned a lot, and were particularly happy to have learned to cook cactus correctly, having previously thought it was slimy and unpleasant, Isa showed us how to properly prepare delicious cactus salad. Other dishes included 3 types of salsa and 2 guacamoles; mole sauce used for enchiladas; sautéed huitlacoche; carrot and hibiscus flower tinga; handmade tortillas. Highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class with Isa. The Tikin Xic fish came out great and we got to make our own tortillas. Fabulous time and well worth doing. Also, we got to meet Roto, a charming, older 3-legged dog.

This was really really fun! We went right after Mexico reopened from COVID, so my daughter and I were the only ones in the class. It was like being at home with an old friend! We made ALOT of food and took home a bunch of stuff. She was so easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about everything. She gave us tips, sent us the final recipes and really changed how I now value Mexican food! Fun, fun, fun!

Isla’s cooking school was a fantastic hands on experience and I would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling to Playa Del Carmen. We have some amazing, authentic recipes to try at home and they are definitely items we would ever think to order in a restaurant. Isabel was an amazing host and extremely professional, yet fun to be around. She answered all our questions and was easy to talk to.
