I was surprised not to be greeted by anyone there. If I hadn't made a point to say "hi" myself to a few other visitors, I wouldn't have talked to anyone at all. (So while sitting alone and waiting for the service to start, I prayed for the locals involved with this ministry. It can't be easy, being primarily a tourist church.) Enjoyed singing familiar early 2000's praise songs in Spanish and English. Thanks to the guys who led us! I don't recall if there was a time of corporate prayer. It really surprised me that there wasn't any Scripture reading! On its own, or as part of the sermon. The one and only time a Bible was opened was almost as an afterthought, in the closing comments, when a local congregant stood up and shared a verse he thought applied. The sermon itself was almost an hour of Christianese rambling. In English, with Spanish translation. The guy talking -- I don't know if he's the pastor or what because he never introduced himself -- never once cracked open a Bible or even referenced a Bible verse! I was really surprised, since this is something Calvary Chapels usually hold to strongly -- the clear teaching of the Word. This guy, he just rambled. And then at the end he mocked a congregant for asking a "stupid" question. :-O Later, my son and I were walking past the local, packed-out-the-doors, Catholic parroquia -- and even though I'm a Protestant, the joy on people's faces and the beauty of the worship made me wish we'd joined them instead for our church visit.

Why not a 5.... The word of God was definitely preached It was good. Definitely bilingual. Wife and I first timers. But first impressions Was unfriendly... why... no one greeted! I greeted a couple people as I waked in otherwise would have been ignored. This church def needs outgoing greeters. Pastor first impressions count!! How about coffee, juice cookies after service. Socialize ask questions. Get to meet one another. I hope you take these suggestions to heart. .

True preaching of the full gospel. No judgement on outward appearance. Engaging. He talked among us not at us. And it wasn't like a staged show. Churches today perform rather than teach the word of God. Oh yeah! No stand up and shake hands with your neighbor. It was a real teaching experience. No pressure. He let God do all the heavy lifting. Smile.

If you’d like to visit an authentic Christian church while you are visiting San Jose Los cabos, I recommend Calvary Chapel. They are not well known, but they are very welcoming to visitors. The service is on sunday at 10am and is outside, under a palm fronds canopy. There is singing followed by Bible teaching in english and Spanish. This humble little church is worth visiting. It is very near the plaza on the corner of Coronado and Santos Dellogado.
