Nice cathedral despite being small and far from the big churches in the middle of the country Make sure you get some ice cream behind the cathedral called "nieve de garrafa". Quite refreshing for those hot days.

We visited Mazatlán Cathedral while doing a Mexico cruise with Princess Cruise line. We boarded an open air taxi at the cruise terminal for the short 5 minute ride to the Cathedral. It is a colourful old church with nice stained glass windows. It was very crowded due to the cruise ship passengers. It was exquisite and certainly one of the must sees in Mazatlán.

Must visit. Beautiful cathedral, beautiful architecture, with lot of nice sculptures outside. The cathedral is just a church, there is some stores outside but you will not need to spend much time other than taking a seat inside to admire the beautiful structure. We were there for 20 min and that is enough time to spend here. It might be short and some might feel it is not worthwhile to visit, but it definitely is a beautiful spot and you are 3-5 min walk away from the indoor market (suraz) where you can purchase a lot of souvenirs at a very cheap price. Also a lot of restaurants in the area, but both places combined will let you spend a good 2-3 hours in the area.

One of the beautiful churches I seen in my life time. The Mazatlan Cathedral was built in the 1800's it last it for many years. Many visitors visit the church for it history and beauty of the structure.

Amazing place, stunning cathedral. It's like a mix between old style and new style

Wow, a must see. The church is absolutely beautiful and pictures do not do it justice. You feel a sense of peace as you enter and look around the church. It's a diamond situated in the rough, with stores surrounding the area and sellers hawking their wares outside. We came by taxi, so we weren't worried about parking, which was a good thing, since it's hard to come by. There's a lot of traffic, foot and car, so be warned. If you get a chance to come here, take it.

We visited this cathedral during a port day while on a cruise. We chose our excursion in Mazatlan solely based on being able to visit & go inside of this cathedral. It did not disappoint. It is a beautiful cathedral. Visitors should note that it is an active church with services and/or other congregational activities throughout the week. Therefore, please be respectful & quiet when visiting. Also, to assist with the upkeep, please consider donating to their building maintenance fund by placing a donation in their collection boxes.
