The "La Habichuela Special" is easily now one of my top two favorite dishes I have ever eaten in my life. Ever. For real. The combination of curry, pineapple, coconut, and banana with lobster and shrimp was indescribably delicious. I was in heaven. My girlfriend enjoyed her whole fish (grouper) too. We enjoyed a great bottle of Mexican chardonnay at the waiter's recommendation. Service was excellent. The only negative was the volume of the live music. The sound reverberated off the wall of glass windows and the tiled floor and into our ears too much. The musicians were excellent; it's just that the room is not well suited for live music while dining -- it took over our conversations too much when it should have been more in the background. Overall, a perfect Cancun dining experience that we highly recommend!

The "special" is essentially seafood stew with lots of shrimp and fish in a smoky blend of spices that was warm but not too hot....delicious and unique. The tamales sampler was also good. The Mayan show is a little touristy, as expected, and we preferred the nights with just musicians playing. The Mayan coffee is made tableside and was a nice end to the dinner.

Amazing service. Very friendly and welcoming. Environment is unbeatable and suitable for date nights. Menu and food is unique and good but perhaps a bit overpriced. Overall great experience

Don't pass this by because of the touristy-looking front, the inside and patio of the restaurant is beautiful and classy. Food is good, flambay desserts were delicious. Patio was very pretty at night. Right by the lagoon. Agree that it is a little overpriced, but we're on vacation in Cancun so who cares. Again, the food is very tasty still.

The only thing that was good about this place was the lime soup and the margaritas everything else was bad. We ordered our food at 8:09 and didn't get it until 9:30. The place wasn't even close to busy. Steak was ordered medium came out medium rare and cold! The lobster was over cooked and burnt. Chicken on my pasta was not fully cooked. Also ordered the turkey and meatballs and it was black soup that looked like it was shoveled our of the lagoon..... Also ordered the red snapper and they brought out some other fish and we had to tell them that was wrong.. once we received the red snapper it came out cold as well. As we waited a very long time to get our food we asked for bread and instead of bread the gave us chips and salsa which wasn't bad but not really what we wanted. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they figure something out. JW Marriott should take this off their website as a recommendation :/

Expensive restaurant where you feel pressured by influencing waiters to order more. Not impressed when you are told repeatedly how much I should be tipping in the end!!!
