right on time, well maintained and super cool... it’s not like typical ferry when you cross some bay. Ultramar ferries are well maintained, clean, equipped with necessary amenities and beautiful. Staff are courteous, well dressed in blue and yellow uniforms you have four option, one is from downtown ( from Puerto Juarez, take the R1 bus) and others 3 are in hotel zone (Playa Tortugas, Playa Caracol, and El Embarcadero). All three locations are 2-3 km apart from each other. I chose Downtown so that I can explore downtown too while coming back and also ferry is available from here on 30 minutes interval from 530 AM in the morning, but from the hotel zone, it’s on 1 Hr interval and that too from 9 AM. From 3 local places in the hotel zone, the cost is 19 USA round trip. But from Downtown, it is 300 pesos, which is 16 USD. I have used my BOA credit card. the ferry ride was smooth. it took 18 minutes to reach Isla Mujeres. I would suggest sitting on the deck on a sunny day. water is so clear and turquoise, you would enjoy it. the lower deck has AC arrangement of seating and leather seats are spacious. no crunch plastic seats. Ferry terminals are easy to understand and go. In Isla Mujeres terminal, you can have the look of Playa Centro beach and piers. It makes postcard scene. When you ll exit from a terminal, you 'll find people offering golf cart rental (700-800 Pesos). as we were two, we chose scooter in 350 pesos. they 'll keep your DL and handover one green paper with details. Not sure why people have confusion about boarding point from Isla Mujeres, as its clearly written while boarding that POINT A is Puerto Juarez and POINT B is other points in Hotel Zone. we came back by 5 pm. smooth breezy wind on top deck makes the ride more beautiful with blue turquoise water.

Great terminal... efficient and always on time. Ferries are new, comfortable, modern and air conditioned. If you don’t want to hear the annoying guy playing music (sit inside on lower level). Current price for round trip to Isla Mujeres is 300 MXN (14.59 USD) for foreigners and non-locals. Residents of Yucatán and Isla Mujeres pay discounted rate... that requires local ID.

Best route to Isla Mujeres. 8 to 10 each way if I remember correctly

Taxi Review: Be aware of greedy cab drivers right at the ferry terminal. We wanted to go from the ferry terminal to the airport. They asked for 65. We didn’t even negotiate and walked another two minutes. The official price is around 300-350 pesos (15 usd). We ended up paying 400 pesos (20 usd) what I am okay with for a small tourist surcharge but not more than 3 times... The terminal itself is great and very on time

Very annoying loud music on the ferry. What for do you have music on the ferry?? Nobody needs this loud disgusting noise while on the water. you have children and baby on board and the unnecessary loud music is damaging their ears. I was surrounded by many people who were very annoyed and irritated by the guy playing his annoying music. STOP THE MUSIC this is not a bar or nightclub. I still have a headache. People just want a relaxing ride.
