Amazing place. Restaurant, bar, pool are perfect. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very nice, good size bed, curtains so you can have privacy, very clean. Is in a good location, close to restaurants, terminal transportation. I love it!
There is a very good pool to chill and have a pair of cold beers
Small quiet and well appointed. Feel secluded despite being on a street with traffic. Interesting design. Swimming pool area is very luxe.
I had such a great stay at this place at this place! I really enjoyed the privacy of having the curtains on the beds. The location is great - super close to the bus station, activities, and food. The hostel has a phenomenal breakfast included and a really cool bar/pool area for hanging out. Great cheap food options withing walking distance as well. I think my favorite part was the staff though. From the great check in experience, to the spanish lessons, to the group beach trips, the staff really made me feel welcome. Especially Cisne - he really went above and beyond to make my stay at Chiibal special. No only was his spanish lesson simple and helpful, it was full of humor. And when I asked for directions to a park to workout, instead he took me personally to a great location and actually worked out with me! It is those interactions with staff that truly care about providing a great customer experience are the reason why I will definitely stay at this hostel again and recommend to any fellow travelers.
All the big things have been done very nicely - classy facilities (rooms, beds, baths, lounge chairs, etc), excellent pool area, made-to-order brekkie with real coffee, etc. But some smaller things need improvement - kitchen is not usable (no cooking utensils, no cutting boards, no oven, no microwave, only one stove hob), no ceiling fans in outdoor sitting areas means it will be hot with many bugs unless there is a strong breeze, if you need to work the only tables are in the brekkie area next to a busy road. For backpackers, there are no cheap eats nearby (need to walk 750m across 2 busy streets to get to where the locals eat), there are no organised activities, and the dorm bath has an "open" design so you hear everything that happens in there.
