it was Amazing! i mean the new administrators were awesome, beautiful young family. took us in like real friends and the kayaks and the boat ride at sunset ... like out of a movie superb!
Best view in Bacalar! Free kayaks! Great boat tours! Wonderful people... always love going back to Casa China.
Great view and very clear into the path of becoming sustainable by small daily actions. Good example to follow , share and learn different Eco solutions. You can rent an amazing trip around the lake in catamaran.
Very special hostel by the lake. The view is breathtaking and the staff is incredibly sweet and accomodating. The excursions are really one of a kind. Make sure to watch the sunrise with Enrique on a kayak, and enjoy the tipsy fresh air on the catamaran, while the sun is setting and the local artists share their passion for latin music.
Worst “hotel” experience ever. The room was filthy, clearly not cleaned, sheets stained, window screens ripped. The power went off in the middle of the night leaving us without a fan, terribly hot and being eaten by mosquitos as there are no mosquito nets. Bacalar is beautiful, but do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere (unless you like half run down decrepit Asian flare reeking of mota.)
This place is good if your a family or couple, the private rooms are very nice. But the dorms aren't so great. The bathroom for the dorms are terrible, no door on the bathroom or shower. The shower was just a jet of water, not truly a shower. However, the breakfast was good and that staff was very helpful.
Love our private room with five star lagoon view, great place for people who travel with pets, room is very clean, the bed is super comfortable. Staff is very nice and helpful. Thank you for welcoming us.
