The Mangrove Hotel in Puerto Adolfo Lopez is very isolated. The owner, Juan, is very nice and also a great cook. Don't expect a menu here. Specialty cooking. The food is magnificent. Room is large but bathroom very small and does have hot water. And shower is very good. Our room faced the estuary and beautiful views of the birds and occasionally cayotes on the other side. Fishing is excellent. Our guide Jimmy is extremely knowledgeable and speaks English very well. No tv and Wi-Fi/internet comes and goes. If you want an out of the way destination, this is for you.

I stayed at Mangrove Inn several years ago and had a great experience. That memory made this week's stay even more of a disappointment. We arrived at Mangrove Inn on Saturday afternoon, having made an online reservation a week in advance. The place was utterly deserted other than two maintenance guys,who seemed rather surprised to see us. In broken Spanish I asked where the oficina is, and they said "the manager is gone until Monday." After one of the guys made several phone calls, we were finally shown a room, but not the room we had reserved. We were ultimately moved to the room we had reserved, and had to ask for the hot water to be turned on. The cook arrived a while later, obviously unhappy to be there, and asked if we would like dinner. We said we would. Shame on us, we didn't ask the price. We were served a mediocre (at best) dinner for 380p per plate, and 450p for a bottle of wine.... that is, 1210p (/- 60 USD) for an unimpressive dinner for two. We didn't order off a menu, so we had no idea of the price until after we had finished. I didn't realize how outrageous this was, until my partner reminded me that we had a fantastic four-course meal at a very fine restaurant in Puerto Vallarta just a few weeks before, for far less money. Given that I remember the food at Mangrove Inn before being delicious and very reasonable, I fear that the manager/owner may not know what is going on at the property in his absence. The free breakfast was even less impressive. My stay several years ago was fun, jovial, and i remember the owner/manager visiting all of the tables and the food being fantastic and reasonable. There are precious few other options in Lopez Mateos, but even still, Mangrove Inn is a disappointment.

Nos quedamos una noche antes de ir a ver ballenas. La habitación estaba limpia y las cobijas calientes. Muy bonita vista al manglar. Nos ayudaron a reservar el tour antes de llegar, guardaron el desayuno para comerlo después del tour y fueron bastante amables. El desayuno era sencillo pero preparado al momento y la salsa muy rica.

Mangroove Inn es un hotel muy modesto en Puerto López Mateos, en la región de Bahía Magdalena. La arquitectura del lugar es única. Consideró que falta un poco de atención en los interiores así mismo en la hospitalidad, aun así sigue siendo de las mejores opciones de hospedaje en toda la zona. Los alimentos con ingredientes muy frescos
